He asked me to meet him at Jandakot. He had two planes.
A first date that started in a hangar at Jandakot Airport and ended with breakfast somewhere we flew to. Plus what most dates are actually like.

Most dates from a dating site are ordinary. The annoying ones are when you get stood up. The fun ones are when they bring presents. And then there was the man who asked me to meet him at Jandakot.
Jandakot is the small airport south of Perth, the one for light planes and flying lessons. I went. He walked me into a hangar, and inside were two aeroplanes. Both his.
The funny part: one of them was parked in a tight spot. Nobody came running to move it for him. He dragged it out himself, by hand.
The cool part: he flew us to breakfast.
What I would tell you
Say yes to the date that sounds different. Just tell a friend where you are going first, and who with. Once you are in the air, you cannot leave until you land, so only climb in when you are comfortable, and it is fine to say "next time" if you are not.
And notice the small things. Anyone can own a plane. The man who will drag it out of a tight spot himself, with you watching, is the part worth remembering.
