Community rules

Nine rules. Every member.

Be an adult, be yourself, and treat people well. Everyone agrees to these rules when they join, and breaking the serious ones ends a membership.

Adults. Real. Respectful.

Dateable is dating.
Everything here starts from that.

The rules

What you agree to

Be 18 or over

Every member is an adult. No exceptions, and no wording that trades on looking young.

Be yourself

Photos of you, recent, and your face in the first one. One account per person. Your verification selfie matches your photos.

No sex for money

Dateable is dating. Never offer, ask for or price a sexual act, a meeting or intimacy. Generosity means gifts, experiences and support inside a relationship you both chose.

Never ask for money

Not before you meet, not ever through Dateable. No fees, deposits, gift cards, crypto or bank details. The most common scam asks for exactly these.1

No means no

A declined message, a declined application, a block: each one is an answer. No pressure, no insults, no threats, no second accounts to try again.

List honestly

An invitation on the Board says what you will really provide. The offer is your word; Dateable never holds or moves money between members.

Keep private things private

Never share another member's photos, messages or details. Sharing an intimate image without consent, or threatening to, is image-based abuse.2

Meet in public first

A first meeting is somewhere public. An invitation may not offer a private home or a hotel room as the first place you meet.

Treat everyone fairly

Say who you are looking for. Never exclude anyone by race or religion. Turn up when you said you would, or cancel early.

Removal

What ends a membership

A person reviews every report. These end a membership:

  1. Being under 18.
  2. Offering, asking for or pricing sex.
  3. Asking a member for money, a fee, gift cards or crypto.
  4. Threats, stalking or harassment.
  5. Sharing, or threatening to share, someone's intimate images.
  6. Fake photos, or pretending to be someone else.

A removed member can do nothing on Dateable. Their data is deleted after the retention period.

Checked first

Every invitation and message passes automatic checks before anyone sees it.

Warned

Break a rule in an invitation and it is refused, with a warning. Try again and a person looks.

Hidden

An invitation two members report comes down at once while we review it.

Paused

Three late cancellations or no-shows in 90 days pause posting or applying for 30 days.

If you see it

Report it. One press.

Screenshot the profile and the messages first.3 Then press report on the profile, the message or the invitation. A person reads it. Block them if you want them gone now: a blocked member never sees you again, in search, on the Board or in messages.

Words that work: "I'm not comfortable with that. I'm ending this here." Then block.

Someone asked you for money? Stop replying and report them. Sent some already? Call your bank straight away.1 Someone threatening to share your images? Do not pay, stop contact, and report it to eSafety.2

On the Board

An invitation is a promise

Post the place, the time and what you will provide, then provide it. Contact details wait for messages after you accept a guest. Nothing in an invitation asks the guest to pay.

Apply only for what you mean to attend. Confirm within 48 hours of being accepted, or the place goes to someone else.
