Report

Something felt wrong. Tell us.

Press Report on the profile, the message or the listing, or use the form below. A person on the Dateable team reads every report.

In danger now? Call 000.

Three places to report

Report from where it happened

A profile

Open their profile and press Report. Photos that are not theirs, a fake age, a profile asking for money: tell us which.

A message

In the conversation, press Report. Keep the conversation; deleting it deletes the evidence.

A listing

On the Board, open the invitation and press Report. When two members report the same listing, it comes down at once while we look.

Want them gone from your screen too? Press Block. A blocked member no longer sees you in search, on the Board or in messages. How report and block work.

What happens next

A person reads it

Your report goes to the review queue, where a person on our team reads it alongside the profile, the messages or the listing. No bot decides.

Depending on what we find, we warn the member, take down the photo or the listing, or remove them from Dateable. A removed member loses access to everything.

If we need more from you, we write to the email you give us.

Keep your own screenshots of the profile and the messages. eSafety recommends it,1 and the police may want them later.

Call the police instead

Some things are for the police, not for us

We are a dating site, not investigators. Reporting to an app is not the same as reporting to the police.2 Do both.

You are in danger

Call 000 now. Then tell us, when you are safe.

You were assaulted

Report it to the police, today or years from now. In Victoria there is no time limit.2 Police can request information from dating apps and investigate even after one person blocked or deleted the other.2 1800RESPECT answers 1800 737 732 around the clock.3

Someone shares or threatens your photos

Do not pay and do not send more; stop all contact. Report it to eSafety, which can help get it removed. Police may investigate too.4

You sent money

Call your bank straight away. IDCARE on 1800 595 160 helps if your identity is at risk, and Scamwatch takes the report.5

General information, not advice. If something goes wrong.

Make a report

Tell us what happened

Signed in? Report from the profile, message or listing itself. Otherwise, write here.

Their display name and city, or paste the link to the profile or listing.

What they said or did, in your own words. Quote their words if you can. Never send a password.

Only we see it. We write here if we need more from you.

A good report

Who: their display name and city.

When: the day, even roughly.

What: their words, quoted. "Send me a gift card first" tells us more than "they were weird".

Report these every time

A request for money, gift cards or crypto. Pressure to move to WhatsApp before you meet.5 Anyone who seems under 18. An offer of sex for money. A first meeting in a home or hotel room.

What members agree to: community rules.

Dateable

Verified members, reviewed photos, a person behind every report.
