A man I was seeing sent me a document about what he wants in a connection. It was about 20 pages long. Freaky.

He was generous. He bought me a bunch of stuff, including the stereo in my car, a purse and perfume, which was nice. Then his ex-girlfriend messaged me and asked to meet up, and I got to see the messages he had sent her. They did not match what he had told me.

People be crazy. But a car stereo, a purse and perfume, so who is complaining really? Here is what I took from it.

What I would tell you

  • Read the long message. When someone writes 20 pages about what they want, believe them. It tells you more than any profile.
  • A gift is a gift. It does not buy anything else, and you owe nothing for it.
  • If an ex reaches out, you choose whether to answer. If you meet, meet somewhere public, in daylight, and tell a friend.
  • When the stories do not match, you do not need to work out which one is true. You can just leave.
