Two people on a date

Dateable is built for people who state what they want at the start. You join, choose your side, add photos and a profile, verify with a selfie, and then search or browse the Board to find people to meet. The whole flow is designed to get you from sign-up to a real date as fast as possible, with safety checks built in every step.

Join as an attractive or generous member

When you sign up, you choose which side fits you. On Dateable, that choice shapes how you interact. Both sides are free, every feature.

If you are the attractive member, you join free and browse free. You post photos, write your profile, and search for or apply to people on the Board. You pay nothing for any of it.

If you are the generous member, it is the same: you join, browse, message and post on the Board free. No credits, no subscription.

Both sides can message once their profile is complete. Both need to be verified before they apply to the Board or post on it. So the next steps are the same for everyone.

Add photos and write your profile

You can upload up to twelve public photos and twelve private ones. Every photo is reviewed before anyone else sees it, so you can be confident that what you show is what will appear.

Your profile is where you say who you are and what you are looking for. Write plainly. If you are on Dateable for a specific kind of arrangement or relationship, say it. Clarity at the start means you match with people who actually fit what you want, instead of wasting time in messages working out whether you do.

Private photos are yours to grant or revoke access to. You decide per person whether they can see the private album. This gives you control over what each person sees, without changing your whole profile.

Verify with a live selfie

Before you can post or apply on the Board, you verify with a live selfie. It also earns you the badge and a lift in search. You take a quick video selfie and a reviewer compares it to the photos in your profile. Verification shows that you are the person in your photos. It does not check your name, age, income or identity documents: that is between you and the person you meet.

When you verify, your profile gets a Verified badge with the month. That tells other members that a real person reviewed your photos and they match. It is one of the fastest signals that the person is genuine.

Once you verify, you are ready to meet people.

Find people through search or the Board

Dateable gives you two ways to find the person you want to meet.

The first is search. Browse profiles, filter by what matters to you, and message someone if they match what you want. You control who you approach.

The second is the Board. Any verified member can post an invitation: a date, an event, a trip, or an ongoing arrangement. You say what you offer, when and where. Other verified members see it and apply with a note. You pick who you meet.

Coming to Sydney for two weeks in November. Looking for someone to explore the city with and see where it goes. Coffee at Brew Espresso Bar, 10am, Saturday 1 November.

The Board is live, and so is search. Pick whichever fits your style.

Message and make plans

Once you find someone, open a conversation. Say what caught your eye, be real about what you want, and suggest a real date: a place, a day, a time. Meet somewhere public first. Do not send money or personal information over the app or before you meet, no matter what someone promises or what they say is urgent.

Dateable never holds money between members. If someone asks for money, a gift card, your bank login or a fee to release a payment, that is not how the site works. Stop replying and report the profile immediately.

Any first date is an experiment. Keep your plans simple, stay alert and have an exit plan. Meet for an hour, have coffee instead of dinner, tell a friend where you are going.

Stay safe and stay in control

You can block or report any member in one press. Block stops them from seeing your profile or messaging you. Report sends a message to a person on the team, so they can look into behaviour that does not fit the site.

You can also delete your account and all your data at any time. You do not owe anyone an explanation, and you do not need to check with Dateable: you decide.

Private albums give you another layer of control. You grant access per person, so you choose who sees more of you. If you change your mind about someone, revoke it.

On your first date, plan somewhere public and let someone know where you are. When you meet, pay attention to whether you feel safe and whether the person is who they said. If something feels wrong at any point, it is okay to end the date and leave. You do not have to explain, and you do not owe anyone your time. If someone pushes back or makes you feel bad about leaving, that is a sign to block them and report the profile.
